2017 Year in Review: Christopher Nicholson, Genesis Real Estate Advisors, Inc.

Name: Christopher Nicholson

Company Name: Genesis Real Estate Advisors, Inc.

Address: 85 W. Main St. Ste 301 Bay Shore, NY 11706

What was your most notable project, deal, transaction or professional achievement in 2017?

Genesis has been very busy on many fronts. We sold a bowling alley, leased up new construction in Farmingdale, sold an abandoned property on Veterans Hwy. to become a fitness center and, leased three properties for Family Dollar, opened a grocery stores in Brentwood and opened two Wendys (Islip and Brentwood). I would say they are all notable, some taking us a long time (years others much less).

What was the best decision you made in 2017 and why?

Take on projects that “make sense.” Years past I would be more willing to take on projects that need assemblies, variances, rezoning, etc. I am much more conservative of the battles I pick.

Who or what contributed to your success in 2017 and why?

My life long client base. I am proof, that loyalty, accountability and productive results is the way to success. I have always made sure to stay true to myself and our clients.

What trends will impact your business in 2018?

The growing need for multifamily on Long Island.
