Wolk joins Rosenberg & Estis, P.C. as a member of transaction group

According to Rosenberg & Estis, P.C., Lawrence Wolk, an attorney experienced in commercial real estate mortgage financing and public/private transactions, has joined the firm as a member of its transactional group. Wolk has assisted numerous institutional lenders, government entities, developers and corporations throughout the country in connection with their real estate needs. He has provided legal representation on matters that include the negotiation and documentation of construction; permanent and multi-state financings; public/private partnerships; sales and acquisitions; and other development and public project matters. "Lawrence Wolk has a strong background in real estate financing nationwide and in public/private development projects," said Luise A. Barrack, managing member of Rosenberg & Estis. "He has tremendous experience overseeing the legal work underpinning large, complex transactions involving multiple assets and locations." Prior to joining Rosenberg & Estis, Wolk was a Partner and Counsel with Holland & Knight LLP for 18 years. His responsibilities included representing national life insurance companies and banks in numerous single asset and multi-state, multi-asset mortgage and acquisition transactions. Wolk also oversaw numerous commercial acquisitions, dispositions and mortgage financings for clients headquartered outside of the United States. He served as outside Real Estate Counsel to a number of state of New York agencies. Earlier, Wolk served as Assistant General Counsel for real estate and asset disposition at the Resolution Trust Corp. and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., where he had senior agency legal and management responsibility for the real estate, affordable housing, environmental, and workout sections of the RTC's legal division. He implemented and closed multi-asset sales programs disposing of billions of dollars of real estate and real estate loan assets. Prior to his service with the RTC, Wolk was in private practice in the New York area, focusing on complex real estate mortgage financing and lease transactions. Wolk received a bachelor's degree from the Johns Hopkins University and his juris doctorate from New York University School of Law. He is a member of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys, the American College of Real Estate Lawyers, the New York State Bar Association and the District of Columbia Bar Association. Wolk also serves on the Executive Committee of the Real Property Section of the New York State Bar Association and Co-Chairs the section's CLE Committee. He is licensed to practice law in New York and Washington, D.C. Wolk is a frequent lecturer on real estate law topics at CLE presentations.
