WNY NYSCAR hosts 9th annual awards dinner

The Western New York Chapter of the New York State Commercial Association of REALTORS (WNY NYSCAR) held its ninth Annual Awards Dinner and swearing in ceremony for the 2010 board of directors, February 12. Held this year at the Buffalo Yacht Club located on the Inner Harbor waterfront, the event sold out to an audience of 140 attendees. The Western New York Chapter award for the largest sale transaction of 2009 was granted to Greco Real Estate for the sale of the Crestmount Apartment project in Tonawanda. The largest lease transaction was awarded to Steve Blake of CB Richard Ellis for the long term lease of Bank of America at the Crosspoint Business Park. Other award recipients included the Honorable Tom Reynolds, former U.S. Congressman and real estate broker himself, for the Meritorious Service Award and Cash Cunningham of Cash Realty & Auctions, for the Lifetime Achievement Award. In addition, recognition was given to the 1st and 2nd runners up of the largest sale and lease transaction and recognition to the Buffalo Niagara Enterprise for Buffalo's "Deal of the Year" award for securing Yahoo to build a new facility in Lockport. NYSCAR would like to thank chairmen Alan Hastings, of Hastings Cohn Real Estate and Nick Malagisi of Sperry Van Ness/Commercial Realty for organizing the event these last nine years.
