Williamson, Collins and Post of H2M earn USGBC's LEED AP status

As part of H2M's ongoing commitment to sustainability, more and more staff members are becoming LEED Accredited. According to H2M, an architectural, engineering, environmental, planning and laboratory analysis firm, James Williamson, John Collins, P.E. and Adam Post have all earned the U. S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professional (AP) status. The LEED Green Building Rating System is designed to encourage energy and resource conservation in the construction and operation of buildings. "We are very proud of the continued hard work and dedication that these three have demonstrated in their professional development here at H2M," said John Molloy, P.E., president and CEO at H2M. LEED Professional Accreditation distinguishes building professionals with the knowledge and skills to successfully steward the LEED Certification process. LEED Accredited Professionals (LEED APs) have demonstrated a thorough understanding of green building practices and principles and the LEED Green Building Rating System. Williamson joined H2M in 2006 and presently works in the HVAC department. His responsibilities include preparation of heating and cooling load calculations, equipment selection, piping and duct systems design, site investigation and evaluation of existing HVAC systems, shop drawing review, and construction management. Collins joined H2M in 2000 and presently works as a project engineer in the Water Supply division. Collins is the first from H2M's Water Supply Division to receive his LEED AP status. His responsibilities include overseeing the design and construction of various types of water supply, distribution and treatment projects including transmission mains, new development, cross connection control, well rehabilitation and water treatment. Post joined H2M as an intern in 2005 and became a full-time staff architect upon graduation in 2006 and presently works in the Firematics Division. He facilitates new projects by preparing and coordinating preliminary design and construction drawings. Post's other responsibilities include document coordination, materials research and selection, as well as assisting with shop drawing review, construction administration, and all other phases of project management.
