May 09, 2011 - Design / Build
VVA, LLC, a project management & consulting firm has been selected as the project manager for NYU Langone's new ambulatory care center, occupying thirteen floors at 240 East 38th St. The 225,000 s/f facility will allow for consolidation and expansion of services currently located at 34th and 17th Sts. This multi-phase project will facilitate the relocation of NYU Rusk's home, Cancer Center, pre- admission testing and dermatology facilities and is crucial to the overall Master Plan to clear the site for the construction of Kimmel Pavilion.
The project includes improvements to the building which will accommodate the addition of a drop off/pick-up area on 38th St and replacement of north and south ground level facades with new store fronts. Infrastructure upgrades are also a large component of the project including a new generator, water tank, and air handlers throughout. VVA is providing comprehensive project management services for this complex project, including due diligence, establishing a detailed phasing plan, budgeting, and logistical planning of the overall project, pre-purchase, and construction administration through project closeout. Construction for the project is anticipated to start this month.
"We are excited to be partnering with NYU Langone towards achieving their overall Master Plan," said Dana Panzarino, VVA principal in charge of the project. "We've already successfully completed over 150,000 s/f for NYU Langone in our 5 years working with the organization and we are looking forward to continuing our partnership."
