USGBC presents green building basics and LEED

For those new to green building, USGBC is presenting an instructor-led course offering an introduction to USGBC, green building principles and the fundamentals of the LEED rating system. It includes topics on climate change and building impacts; motivators for green building; and conventional versus integrative approaches - and the associated benefits - to building design, construction and operations. Jason Kliwinski will the be instructor for the workshop to be held July 14 at Carlyle on the Green at Bethpage State Park, 99 Quaker Meeting House Rd. from 8:30 - 12:30 p.m. After completing the course, you will be able to: * Describe USGBC and the LEED Rating System * Consider the value of building green * Define specific examples of green building practices * Know where to go for additional resources and support.
