USGBC-LI hosts breakfast orientations for new members

As Long Island's green movement continues to blossom, USGBC-LI's membership roster continues to grow. In the last month alone, the chapter has welcomed more than 30 new members. To help these individuals become acquainted with and involved in the chapter, USGBC-LI plans to hold orientation breakfasts for its new members several times throughout the year. The first breakfast orientation was held on the morning of April 8 at The Workplace Group in Hauppauge. At the event, chapter leaders and new members were introduced over bagels and coffee and discussed USGBC-LI, the LEED rating system, and the work of the chapter's committees. Another orientation is currently being planned by the membership committee for mid-summer. New members will be notified of the orientation and other chapter events in the near future. For more information about joining USGBC-LI and becoming involved in Long Island's burgeoning green movement, contact [email protected] or visit the chapter web site at www.usgbc-li.org.
