Urban Green Builders LLC and Riverton Lofts LLC develop 75,000 s/f "green" luxury condominium

Urban Green Builders LLC and Riverton Lofts LLC are proud to introduce the first multifamily condominium development in Downtown Hastings-On-Hudson. This mixed-use transit-oriented project is nestled along Hastings' Main St. and is designed to maintain and enhance the character and charm of this small riverside village. The 75,000 s/f building, with a projected completion in spring 2008, contains 25 for-sale residential units, 4 ground-floor rental retail units, and a 12,500 s/f private indoor parking garage. There are a wide variety of dwelling types and sizes available including 1, 2, and 3 bedroom lofts and townhomes. Facing Main St. are the loft-like apartments with open layouts and high, exposed concrete ceilings. Tucked away from the village's main thoroughfare, across a private rooftop courtyard, are spacious 2 and 3 bedroom duplexes with a more traditional townhouse layout. Many of each type of layout enjoy spectacular views of the Hudson River and the Palisades. As with all of Urban Green's development projects, environmental concerns have been at the forefront of design and construction considerations along the way. Five geothermal wells have been drilled to provide heating and cooling for each apartment and retail unit. Energy Star appliances, fixtures, and windows are being installed throughout the project as well as a highly efficient polystyrene wall insulation system. Every apartment will be finished with bamboo flooring, which is a rapidly renewable material, and, where possible, recycled tile and floor surfaces will be utilized in the common areas. Urban Green Builders is also dedicated to insuring sustainability in residential development. To us, this means mixed-use, pedestrian friendly, and transit-oriented. Just about everything one could need, from groceries to books and coffee to open space, is located in Downtown Hastings-On-Hudson, and within a block or two of Riverton Lofts! The Metro North rail line, a short two-minute walk down Main St., runs along the Hudson River and can reach Grand Central Station in less than 40 minutes. Riverton Lofts is unique in its combination of environmentally minded construction and luxurious appointments. Each unit will be outfitted with cherry wood kitchen cabinets, high-end Kitchen Aid appliances, spa-like master baths, a full-size Bosch washer-dryer set, and contemporary lighting fixtures. The ultimate goal has been to achieve building-wide sustainability and efficiency without sacrificing each unit's quality, luxury, or longevity. Urban Green Builders has been an active member of the New York Metropolitan real estate market for more than 10 years. It continues to spread the good word in Connecticut, New York City, and Westchester about sustainability in development and design.
