U.S. attorney Flynn joins Harris Beach as a partner in the business & comm'l. litigation practice grp.

According to the law firm of Harris Beach, Terrance Flynn, U.S. attorney for the western district of N.Y., has joined the firm as a partner in the business & commercial litigation practice group and the government compliance and investigations team. Flynn has served as the U.S. attorney for the western district of New York since March 2006. "Terry will be a significant addition to our firm and litigation practice," said Harris Beach CEO James Spitz, Jr. "He is an experienced and highly skilled litigator with an impeccable reputation. Terry is well-respected within the legal and business communities and by government leaders for his years of service in the U. S. attorney's office." Their dedication to represent the 2.8 million citizens of the 17 county region is second to none." "My tenure as U.S. attorney was a rewarding and challenging chapter of my professional legal career. Joining the prestigious law firm of Harris Beach provides me with the continued opportunity to further strengthen my legal capabilities right here in WNY," said Flynn. He attended the University of Notre Dame, where he received a degree in Accounting in 1985. He obtained a juris doctor in May 1988 from the University of Buffalo Law School. After being admitted to practice law in the state of New York, he started practicing law with a major upstate New York law firm in the city. Prior to his confirmation as the U.S. attorney, he was an experienced litigator who tried cases throughout NYS, including the N.Y.C. metro area and upstate New York. Flynn personally represented numerous individuals and entities, including several Fortune 500 corporations. In addition to serving as a trial partner in his law firm, he also served as the president of the University of Buffalo National Law School Alumni Association, as well as held various other officer positions within the national organization. Mr. Flynn has served as an active volunteer at the Buffalo Ronald McDonald House, United Way, Erie County Bar Foundation, and the New York State Bar Association's Committee for Mass Disaster Response for the State of New York.
