Long Island Industrial, which owns and operates a mixed portfolio of properties across Long Island, has finalized a lease with Communications Specialties, Inc. (CSI), the leading worldwide provider of fiber optic transmission technology for the video and broadcast industry. The site, at 125 Comac St. will become the company's new headquarters and corporate offices, which were formerly based in Hauppauge. Tommy Tsiolis director of leasing for Long Island Industrial represented Long Island Industrial while Tom Attivissimo, CCIM, senior director with Greiner Maltz, represented the CSI. "Providing a portfolio of fully flexible properties that are able to meet the ever-changing requirements of today's technology industry is the cornerstone to our mission at Long Island Industrial," said Tsiolis. "The building was a perfect match for the kind of culture Communication Specialties was trying to create as the manufacturing and administrative functions must work seamlessly to be effective, which is key when dealing with intricate technology. CSI president and CEO John Lopinto said he was in the market for a new base of operations that would help create a more synergistic and homogenous work flow between all facets of the business and found it at Long Island Industrial's Equi Park. "As our company celebrates its 30th anniversary, we knew, in order to continue our evolution, that we needed to create a circular flow of synergistic communications between sales and marketing, research and development, engineering, manufacturing, shipping and fulfillment," Lopinto said. "Our new location within Long Island Industrial's Equi Park will enable us to create the exact kind of workflow our talented workers need to continue to create innovative products and outstanding customer value." CSI's relocation comes on the heels of the company's 30th anniversary. As a result of the effective collaboration between Long Island Industrial and Communications Specialties, the relocation was seamless with no interruption to manufacturing or order fulfillment.
