Transwestern welcomes Grotto as managing director

According to Transwestern's local office, John Grotto, a 20-year industry veteran, has joined the firm's Northeast region as managing director. He will focus on the leasing of office and retail space in the area. "We are extremely pleased to welcome John to the firm," said Patrick Robinson, president of Transwestern's Northeast region, "His proven track record of both office and retail leasing success coupled with his extensive knowledge of the market will add significant expertise to our team. With this addition, we are continuing to expand the scope of best-in-class services that we are able to offer our clients." Grotto joins Transwestern from The Durst Organization where he served as a senior leasing manager and led the company's retail leasing effort. While there he completed more than 120 combined office and retail leasing transactions for a portfolio of more than 9 million s/f of class A Manhattan properties. Grotto's most notable retail transactions have included TD Ameritrade, Verizon, GAP, Staples, Starbucks, Sprint and Dishes. Prior to The Durst Organization, Grotto served at Colliers ABR following the firm's merger with J. Grotto and Associates, where he began his commercial real estate career. In 2005, Grotto was elected as chairman of the Young Men's/Women's Real Estate Association. He has also served on the Real Estate Board of New York's Commercial Brokerage Division Board of Directors.
