Thru the Lens: Brick & Mortar

The new post of Brick&Mortar, steps from bustling Bedford Ave. was converted into a hip event space the evening of March 5, 2012, to celebrate the official opening of the company. Passersby couldn't believe how easily the office space transformed into a chic party venue, which was jam-packed with media, brokers, friends and family as well as some ultra-fashionable Williamsburg locals. Brick&Mortar founder, Rolan Sereny, worked the entrance by personally greeting over 200 attendees in celebration of the firm's grand opening. Award-winning nemaworkshop custom designed the 1,200 s/f space, by using 100-year-old repurposed wood to line the floors and entry wall, with a floor to ceiling bookcase—complete with sliding ladder—flanking the opposite side. Large spheres of light floated above the room, enhancing the playful mood throughout the night. Guests sipped signature cocktails called "The Brick," "The Mortar" and "The Closing," poured by highly praised Civetta mixologist, Drew Z. Neighborhood charcuterie, The Meat Hook, served pulled pork sliders with coleslaw and veggie wraps from local artisanal fine meat and goods purveyors. In the middle of the bustling event, Sereny stated, "We are very excited to welcome everyone into our new home. As an organization, we're committed to reinventing how people experience real estate, and I'm proud to be able to open our doors to everyone in attendance, while continuously opening new doors to all of our clients."

The death of the generic offering memorandum: What buyers expect in 2025 - by Kimberly Zar Bloorian

There was a time when an offering memorandum (OM) was pretty bare bones, some photos, a few bullet points on income, and a rent roll thrown in at the back. That used to get the job done. Not anymore. In 2025, buyers are sharper, faster, and more selective. They’re looking
