The Feil Organization signs 34,484 s/f lease with grocer Lidl at Glen Oaks Shopping Center

Queens, NY The Feil Organization signed a 34,484 s/f lease with supermarket chain Lidl at the Glen Oaks Shopping Center.

“We’re excited to welcome Lidl into our premier retail tenant roster,” said Randall Briskin, vice president of leasing at the Feil Organization. “As the popular supermarket continues its sustained expansion in New York City, its diverse grocery options are set to enhance the local community while also increasing foot traffic within the shopping center.”

Feil was represented by Randall Briskin, vice president of real estate. Ken Schuckman of Schuckman Realty procured the tenant for Feil.

Located at 255-01 Union Tpke. in Glen Oaks, Glen Oaks Shopping Center is an open-air shopping center spanning three buildings over five city blocks in the easternmost part of Queens. The 187,650 s/f center is anchored by the Burlington and Key Foods and is centrally located along Union Tpke.

The Lidl grocery store will offer a bakery, fresh produce, floral, meats and seafood sections, as well as other everyday grocery essentials, with unmatched value and a simple and efficient shopping experience. Eighty percent of the store’s assortment consists of private label products and the majority are sourced in the U.S. USA Today 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards and Food & Wine Magazine have repeatedly ranked Lidl among the top grocers in the country. Based in Arlington, Virginia, Lidl operates more than 170 stores on the East Coast, with 25 in New York State. In New York City, Lidl currently operates stores in Staten Island, Harlem and Astoria. This is Lidl’s third announced lease in Queens. 

“We continue to hear positive feedback from our Astoria customers and cannot wait to continue our expansion with an Elmhurst location in early 2024, and soon thereafter this fantastic new location in Glen Oaks, Queens,” said Or Raitses, Lidl US senior director of real estate for Lidl’s Northern region. “With this new location, we are continuing our mission to bring fresh foods at an incredible value to the many unique and diverse neighborhoods of New York City.”
