The Doe Fund to break ground on new Bronx affordable and supportive housing residence

Manhattan, NY The Doe Fund, a homeless services organization known for its Ready, Willing & Able work training program and its more than 1.2 million s/f portfolio of housing, will break ground on its next permanent affordable and supportive housing residence at 658-674 Casanova St. in the Hunts Point neighborhood of the Bronx.

Upon completion, the Casanova Residence will be The Doe Fund’s 13th affordable and supportive housing building, bringing the organization’s portfolio to more than 1,400 units across New York City. The residence’s 38 affordable housing units will be available via the city’s Housing Lottery system, while the remaining 58 units will be reserved for special populations — such as individuals and families with serious mental illness, substance use disorders, or disabling medical conditions — through the New York City 15/15 Supportive Housing Initiative. Tenants will have access to support services including case management; adult basic education, computer skills, and financial literacy classes; occupational courses and paid work training; job search preparedness; legal referrals and more.
