Tempco Glass expands facility by 25,000 s/f

Flushing, NY Fast growing Queens-based Tempco Glass Fabrication has acquired 25,000 s/f of additional industrial space.  The newly leased space adjoins, and is being connected with, the company’s existing 20,000 s/f facility on the ground floor at 131-10 Maple Ave.  The new space more than doubles the size of the company’s manufacturing footprint. Tempco has occupied the original space (which also includes sales and company offices) since its corporate launch in early 2013.

The additional space will provide Tempco the ability to add new equipment and introduce new products, and it will provide needed space for inventory and warehousing of finished goods prior to shipping.

“Tempco is located in the heart of the New York metro area, convenient for all our glazing, fenestration and curtain wall trade customers,” said Johnson Chen, Tempco general manager. “This expansion allows us to meet the ever growing demand for our quality glass fabrication services while remaining in our current location.”

Besides new production and warehousing space, the expansion includes an additional loading dock and added customer parking.  Renovation and reconfiguration of the new space is underway. Several new pieces of glass fabrication equipment are on order and scheduled to be delivered and brought online over the next six months. “Tempco’s expansion gives us the resources needed to be the New York Metro Area’s glass professionals’ supplier of choice, now and far into the future,” said Chen.

Most people think of St. Patrick’s Day as a fun footnote on the calendar. In construction logistics, however, it’s a full-scale operational variable — especially if your work touches major metro areas with major parades and, let’s call it what it is, enthusiastic celebrants.
