This marks the first time Target has attended the Canadian Convention. It has 1,743 stores in the U.S.
In the U.S., Target recently said it will begin rolling out smaller stores in urban areas in 2012. These will measure between 60,000 s/f and 100,000 s/f, roughly half the size of a typical Target. The company will open a 90,000 s/f prototype in Seattle and follow up with stores in 10 other markets, including Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City and San Francisco.
