Six new general purpose classrooms will be added to the school to make room for the 100 new 6th grade students who will be attending McQuaid for the first time this year. The project also includes a complete renovation to the school's kitchen and servery, which currently contain original 1950s features. A boiler plant and electrical service upgrade is also included in the project scope. Steve Rebholz, principal at SWBR, said that "this servery renovation will make a fundamental change in how the cafeteria functions and the food offerings which will be available in the future. The classrooms will be state of the art and assist both teachers and students to succeed."
The McQuaid renovation project began in February and was completed September. The general contractor for the project was DiMarco Constructors.
