Suffolk IDA preliminarily approves investment for Broadway National LLC

December 13, 2022 - Long Island

Hauppauge, NY The Suffolk County Industrial Development Agency (IDA) has preliminarily approved a transaction to assist Broadway National Group, LLC for the renovation of its existing 65,500 s/f headquarters located at 100 Davids Dr. The $6 million project will be the company’s second project completed with the Suffolk IDA’s assistance to keep up with Broadway National’s growth.

Broadway National LLC is a property management, construction and technology company founded in Suffolk County. The business has grown from a neon lights fabrication shop into an innovative mobile and cloud-based multi-site property management company servicing Fortune 500 clientele.

In 2017, Broadway National was approved for assistance by the Suffolk IDA for a more than $10.8 million project to purchase and renovate 100 Davids Dr. At the time, the 101-person company expected to create 50 new jobs with the IDA’s assistance. The company’s total headcount is now at more than 236, far surpassing their commitments to Suffolk County. This second transaction with the  agency will be for the renovation of the 1st floor of the facility to create dedicated class-a office space to support its growing technology business sector. The renovations will also include building out an employee training area, shared work spaces, and a kitchen and lunch area. A new surface parking of 75,550 s/f will provide employees and the company’s visitors with parking.

Upon the project’s completion, Broadway National will grow its now 236-person workforce once again by adding 70 more full-time positions. Broadway National’s footprint in Suffolk County’s economy is not only measured by their investment and job creation, but the support they provide to other businesses in the region. In 2021, Broadway National spent more than $2.7 million with Long-Island-based vendors and they know this amount will increase with the completion of their facility.

“As its company name implies, Broadway National has customers and facilities nationwide and could be serving its customers from anywhere, but they continue to call Suffolk County home. This assistance will allow a growing business that has been based in the county for more than three decades, the ability to stay and continue expanding both in size and workforce here in Hauppauge.” said Tony Catapano, executive director of the Suffolk County IDA.

“The IDA is pleased to provide support to Broadway National,” said Catapano.

“Broadway National is the type of company that we get really excited about,” said Kelly Murphy, deputy executive director of the Suffolk IDA. “They are a homegrown business that has continued to expand while remaining committed to their roots here in Suffolk. They have shattered their employment commitments in the past so we are excited to see what this next wave of investment into their facility brings to them and our region.”

“We are grateful for the continued support of the Suffolk IDA as their actions will ensure this company’s headquarters remains in Suffolk County,” said William E. Paparella, CEO and president of Broadway National LLC. “Broadway National has been in business in Suffolk County for thirty-three years starting as a small mom and pop sign manufacturing company. “We continue to see significant growth as we diversify our business offerings and the assistance from the IDA will enable us to make needed investments, grow our employee base and further ingrain ourselves into the fabric of Long Island’s economy.”
