New York City residents interact with sidewalk sheds everyday, and many of these sheds belong to Spring Scaffolding LLC. As a leader in the scaffolding business for over twenty years, Spring Scaffolding has been making the restoration process of New York City possible through its placement of intricate scaffold systems alongside many of New York’s most identifiable façades. Spring, as its employees and clients coin it, has built its superior reputation on the safety and craftsmanship it has provided in the scaffolding industry, and now, it has expanded its scope to include new construction with the purchase of a fleet of brand-new material and personal hoists.
The acquisition of the hoists is an investment as New York City is experiencing a construction boom of historic proportions. Our existing customers were demanding quality hoist services, which we decided to fulfill. According to projections made by New York Building Congress, construction spending is estimated to reach $39 billion by years end, with a 5% increase over the next two years. With the purchase of the hoists, which are manufactured by the European company Stros, Spring has entered a whole new area of involvement where it continues to bring the same quality and attention to detail that it has provided to the scaffolding industry for over two decades.
A hoist proves to host a variety of advantages and benefits, and in many circumstances, it is a necessity. Its main purpose is to transport material, personnel and inspection professionals up and down new construction and demolition sites that reach heights exceeding 75 ft. The equipment offers an additional advantage in its tractability. The hoists can act as either single lifts, moving personnel and materials independently, or as dual lifts, which can lift supplies and workers simultaneously. A hoist is also necessary for providing access to areas where traditional means of transportation do not work. For example, in new construction zones or demolition sites, a hoist is essential for moving vertically as a result of the building’s elevator system being unsafe, not in place or disabled, altogether.
Spring Scaffolding has always worked tirelessly to ensure the safety of its workers and the pedestrians who occupy the space around their work, which is why the proper due-diligence is carried out for every new job using the hoists. A hoist’s location is based on several factors including safety, job complexity and size, as well as the building’s form. Safety is our primary concern, and we will perform all the necessary steps to ensure that our operations run as smoothly as possible.
Spring Scaffolding, which boasts an impressive clientele list that includes names such as The Plaza Hotel, The MetLife Building, The Helmsley Building, Saks 5th Avenue, The Paramount Theater, and Christian Dior, is eager to continue building its reputation and patron base with its exceptional hoist services. Myself and the rest of the Spring Scaffolding team are all excited about the new endeavor they have undertaken, and look forward to continue playing an additionally important role in the New York City construction scene.
