East Garden City, NY According to RIPCO Real Estate, Century 21 Stores has signed a 68,000 s/f lease at Simon Property Group’s Roosevelt Field. RIPCO vice chairman and principal Gene Spiegelman represented Century 21 Stores, his sixth deal with the retailer and third with Simon. The landlord rep was not disclosed.

“Over the course of six transactions with Century 21, I have become keenly aware of the retailer’s business goals, which, of-course, includes providing its customers with a best-in-class shopping experience. Securing this long-term lease with a top-tier owner like Simon, affords Century 21 Stores the opportunity to do just that,” said Spiegelman. “At Roosevelt Field, the retailer will occupy a beautifully designed and highly visible two-story location with direct access to-and-from the mall’s Old Country Rd. entrance.”

Century 21 Stores’ 68,000 s/f location will include a wide-range of offerings, ranging from men’s, women’s and children’s apparel to footwear, outerwear, lingerie, accessories, home goods and beauty products. The store, which has a robust following amongst consumers, is a leader in the off-price sector.

Century 21 Stores will officially open its doors to the public in spring of 2021, replacing Bloomingdales Furniture, which will relocate to the newly renovated Bloomingdale’s store already on-site. The new home will allow the retailer to move from its current location in Westbury, affording customers a more dynamic and convenient shopping experience. The lease follows the successful stint of Century 21 Stores’ experimental concept Century 21 Edition, which operated at the mall in 2018 and demonstrated consumers’ appetite for a greater selection of premium off-price retail.

At Roosevelt Field, Century 21 Stores will join a roster of tenants that includes Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales, Macy’s Nordstrom and Dick’s Sporting Goods, in addition to 250 specialty stores. Roosevelt Field also offers a bevy of dining options, including Small Batch by Tom Colicchio, The Capital Grille, Grand Luxe Café and Seasons 52, as well as the fast-casual Dining District.

When Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) were first part of commercial real estate risk management, it was the lenders driving this requirement. When a borrower wanted a loan on a property, banks would utilize a list of “Approved Consultants” to order the report on both refinances and purchases.
