Spector Group designs FHLBNY’s new 64,200 s/f Midtown office space

Federal Home Loan Bank of New York’s new office space.

Manhattan, NY Spector Group has revealed the design for Federal Home Loan Bank of New York’s newly expanded office space. Federal Home Loan Bank of New York (FHLBNY) is expanding its one-floor Midtown office space at 101 Park Ave. to one-and-a-half floors.

Spector Group’s design for FHLBNY’s new 64,200 s/f space accentuates the shape of the building, highlighting the trading area and formal conference rooms. The design is based around the concept of an axis. Specialty materials highlight the main circulation axis of the space, drawing people towards specific areas and key views. These include communal spaces, meeting rooms, and social function areas – all with daylight views.

“Our detailed workplace strategy process educated FHLBNY on current workplace trends and evaluated their needs for their future space,” said Scott Spector, AIA, a principal at Spector Group. “Surveys, interviews, site observation studies and workshops allowed Spector Group to provide FHLBNY with a research-based design which will serve their specific needs and efficiencies, while incorporating the latest in workplace design trends.”

The design is unique for the finance industry in that it brings the trading area to the front of the house, creating an impactful impression upon arriving to the space with a circular ceiling design that incorporates technology and evokes a sense of energy and activity. The space’s open plan creates “neighborhoods,” which stimulates interaction among employees, while also providing a level of privacy.

Spector Group excels at designing custom innovative workplaces for the future, tailored to clients’ specific needs and goals. Some of the firm’s most recent office projects include, VaynerMedia’s NYC headquarters; DeutschAdvertising’s new NYC headquarters; Pernod Ricard’s Park Avenue office; Criteo’s NYC headquarters; Magnitude Capital’s NYC headquarters; WeWork’s 222 Broadway space.

Most people think of St. Patrick’s Day as a fun footnote on the calendar. In construction logistics, however, it’s a full-scale operational variable — especially if your work touches major metro areas with major parades and, let’s call it what it is, enthusiastic celebrants.
