Spano appointed of counsel at Schroder & Strom, LLP; Over and Mohlenhoff hired as associate attorneys

Schroder & Strom, LLP has appointed Gregory Spano as of counsel and has hires Jennifer Over and Edward Mohlenhoff as associate attorneys. Spano graduated from St. John's University and was admitted to practice law in New York state in 1976. He was admitted to the U.S. District Court, Eastern and Southern Districts and the U.S. Court of Appeals in 1983. He has over 30 years of extensive experience with civil and commercial law. Spano worked as assistant corporation counsel in the Family Court Bureau of the N.Y.C. Law Department and as an attorney for the N.Y.C. Housing Authority. Beginning in 1979, he served as deputy county attorney for Nassau County in the Family Court Bureau and Litigation Bureau and in 1985 he became the principal law clerk to the late New York State supreme court justice Patricia Collins for 11 years. Subsequently, for more than 15 years, he served as principal law clerk to New York State supreme court justice Stephen Bucaria in Nassau County. The last five years of that tenure was in the commercial division, drafting decisions and orders involving complex commercial discovery and litigation and status conferences, often in multi-party disputes. Spano became of counsel to the firm, where he heads the firm's litigation department. Over received her juris doctor degree cum laude from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center. Over attended St. John's University where she double majored receiving a bachelor of arts degree in Government & Politics and a bachelor of arts degree in English Literature. She was a member of the honors program during her studies. She became an associate of the firm upon her admission to New York. Mohlenhoff was admitted to practice law in 1988, receiving his Juris Doctor from St. John's University School of Law. He comes to the firm with vast experience in the field of tax certiorari. Prior to joining Schroder & Strom, he was senior associate and partner with two law firms in Nassau County that specialized in tax assessment litigation. He was employed as a deputy county attorney for the Nassau County attorney's office from 1988 to 1992 prior to entering private practice. Mohlenhoff is presently president of Youngs Memorial Cemetary (burial site of President Theodore Roosevelt), board member of the Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary & Audubon Center, the Oyster Bay Community Foundation, treasurer of the Life Enrichment Center of Oyster Bay and on the state board of Audubon New York. His passion is for historic preservation and he has supported many local projects that have saved or preserved local history on the North Shore of Long Island. In addition to his many community contributions, Mohlenhoff has also served as chairman of the tax certiorari & condemnation committee of the Nassua County Bar Association.
