SMPS Canstruction Long Island to be on display Oct. 29 - Nov. 4; Cans to be donated to Long Island Cares Inc. Harry Chapin Food Bank

According to the Long Island Chapter of the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS), it will be sponsoring Canstruction Long Island from October 29 to November 4, 2010. SMPS Canstruction Long Island consists of exhibits of giant self-supporting structures made from cans of food. The exhibit will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at RXR Plaza. To view the exhibit, please bring one can of food to be donated to the Long Island Cares, Inc. The Harry Chapin Food Bank. Canstruction Long Island is sponsored by the Long Island Chapter of SMPS under the auspices of the Society for Design Administration. Competing teams of design and construction professionals, led by Architects and Engineers, will build giant self supporting structures made from cans of food on October 27th. All Canstructions will then be dismantled and the cans of food donated to the Long Island Cares, Inc. The Harry Chapin Food Bank.
