Smith launches Tamsin Construction Group

Manhattan, NY After more than four decades building spaces, relationships and a reputation for getting difficult projects done right, construction executive Tammy Smith has launched Tamsin Construction Group, a new construction and project management company serving commercial clients throughout New York and New Jersey and a select luxury residential clientele in South Carolina and Florida

For Smith, Tamsin Construction Group is both a new company and the natural continuation of a career spent building from the owner’s point of view.

“This isn’t about starting over,” said Smith, founder and president of Tamsin Construction Group. “It’s about taking everything I’ve learned over more than 40 years — the relationships, the standards, the attention to detail and the understanding that our clients are trusting us with more than a construction project — and building what comes next.”

Smith has spent her career working at the intersection of property management, construction and client service. Beginning as a property manager before moving into construction, she developed an approach grounded in an understanding of what happens long after the construction team leaves: owners have buildings to operate, managers have residents and tenants to answer to, and clients need spaces that work as beautifully as they look.

That perspective became Smith’s hallmark.

Tamsin Construction Group will bring that same philosophy to commercial construction throughout New York and New Jersey, including common-area renovations, lobbies, corridors and amenity spaces; office and tenant build-outs; medical and professional spaces; building renovations; and complex projects performed within occupied properties.

Smith will be joined by familiar industry professionals who have worked alongside her for years, providing clients with experienced leadership and continuity from preconstruction through completion.

In South Carolina and Florida, Tamsin Construction Group will introduce a highly personalized residential offering for a limited number of clients seeking comprehensive interior renovation and build-out services.

The company will specialize in high-end residences, condominiums and select properties requiring sophisticated renovations with minimal disruption to the owner’s daily life. From planning and material selection through construction, installation and final details, Tamsin will coordinate the process with the discretion and hands-on oversight expected of a white-glove service.

The Southeast practice will also draw on Smith’s experience adapting properties to the realities of coastal living, incorporating contemporary, durable and environmentally conscious materials appropriate for heat and humidity while transforming dated interiors for today’s lifestyles.

Tamsin’s residential service is intentionally selective.

“We’re not interested in doing the most projects,” Smith said. “We’re interested in doing the right projects exceptionally well. If someone is trusting us with their home, they should know who is responsible for it. They should be able to pick up the phone and reach us. And they should never have to wonder whether anyone is paying attention.”
