Smith and Vitolano named associates at Langan Engineering

Langan Engineering & Environmental Services have promoted Jeff Smith, PG, and Christopher Vitolano, PE, LEED AP to associates with the firm. Smith helps lead Langan's environmental practice in Philadelphia, which encompasses Pennsylvania, southern N.J., Delaware, and Maryland. Vitolano helps lead the firm's site/civil engineering practice in N.Y., which includes all five boroughs and L.I. A hydrogeologist and expert in RCRA/CERCLA programs, Smith possesses extensive experience managing the mitigation of complex technical, regulatory, and legal issues, resulting in the development of alternative, cost-effective, practical solutions to environmental problems. He has also led many successful investigation/closure strategies under the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection's Land Recycling Program and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection regulatory programs. A trusted resource in the industry, Vitolano has managed the site planning, engineering design, permitting, and construction of a wide variety of commercial, retail, residential, and institutional development projects throughout New York. He has extensive knowledge of the permitting process and relationships with agencies such as NYC Departments of Transportation, Environmental Protection, and City Planning, as well as the New York State DEC. His expertise includes urban redevelopment, master planning, utility infrastructure, site assessments, waterfront sites, and sustainable stormwater designs.
