John Schuyler, AIA, LEED, has been promoted as a partner at FXFOWLE. Since joining the firm in 2006, he has focused on integrating a sustainable design vision for each project and implementing comprehensive, strategic design and planning approaches for developing sites and master plans. His leadership and management skills, combined with extensive project and planning design expertise in both private and public sectors, have made him an invaluable member of the firm."What motivates me is a simple belief in making the world a better place. My goal is to create architecture that effects positive change in both communities and individuals. I have been fortunate to do that at FXFOWLE, and will continue to strive for those same ideals in my new role," said Schuyler.
"John brings a wealth of attributes: he is a fine design talent, a great urban thinker, and possesses great judgment and leadership. We are thrilled to welcome him to the partnership," said FXFOWLE senior partner Dan Kaplan, FAIA, LEED.

John is currently the Project Manager for Atlanta's new Multi-Modal Transportation Center for Georgia DOT. The project includes master planning for the surrounding 126-acres, and will create a new regional and metropolitan transportation center that integrates service for ten passenger train platforms, including commuter rail and high-speed rail, and 80 bus bays for local, regional and inter-city buses in a single station. He is also leading two additional projects: an urban design effort for the New York City Empire Development Corporation's Seaport City Feasibility Study, a resiliency project proposed by Mayor Michael Bloomberg that will protect Lower Manhattan from coastal flooding and provide opportunities for economic development; and a new Class-A, 145,000-square-foot office building for Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, New York.

John is an alumnus of New Jersey School of Architecture at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, the Boston Architectural Center, and the Harvard University Graduate School of Design, where he received his Master of Architecture in Urban Design, with Distinction. He teaches and lectures regularly, or serves as a guest design critic at the Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Pratt University Graduate Program in Urban Design, Harvard Graduate School of Design, University of Pennsylvania, New Jersey Institute of Technology, and the Boston Architectural Center.
