Sahn of Forchelli, Curto, Deegan honored with Around 50 Award by Long Island Business News

Forchelli, Curto, Deegan, Schwartz, Mineo & Terrana, LLP real estate partner Brian Sahn was named a Long Island Business News honoree of the Around 50 Award. Sahn was selected because of his leadership in business, mentoring, and support of Long Island's not-for-profit U.S. Green Building Council of LI. Sahn concentrates his practice in all facets of commercial real estate transactions, including representing clients in purchase and sale agreements; acquisition financing transactions; industrial/economic development projects; and commercial lease agreements in the office, retail and industrial markets. He has experience in real estate brokerage matters, including representing clients in connection with real estate portfolio management service agreements, corporate global solutions agreements, lease administration agreements and disputes over commissions and entitlements. He represents several large public and private companies concerning their real estate portfolios, involving the management, disposition and acquisition of corporate real estate holdings, frequently involving complex environmental, title and facilities problems. In addition, he represents many clients in connection with ground-up real estate development projects, and institutional lenders in commercial real estate and multifamily loan transactions. He also has represented defense contractors in facility closures and divestitures, and in negotiations with local redevelopment agencies and municipal representatives. Sahn is the co-chair of the firm's diversity committee and manages the firm's "sustainable" initiatives. He oversaw the firm's LEED certification process for its office and is also on the board of directors of the USGBC-LI chapter. The United States Green Building Council (USGBC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to sustainable building design and construction. USGBC developed the LEED building rating system, which is an internationally recognized green building certification system, providing building owners and operators a concise framework for identifying and implementing practical and measurable green building design, construction, operations and maintenance solutions.
