Rosenzweig and Scolder of CBRE lease 4,100 s/f

Queens, NY In a lease transaction arranged by the outer boroughs office of CBRE, Habitat for Humanity’s nonprofit home improvement store and donation center ReStore inked a 4,100 s/f retail lease at 62-01 Northern Blvd., Woodside. The deal represents the first NYC location for ReStore. Dean Rosenzweig, senior VP, retail services at CBRE, along with Jeremy Scholder, negotiated the lease on behalf of the tenant. The ownership, Pliskin Realty & Development, Inc., was represented in-house by Christopher Wierzbicki. There are currently 750 ReStore’s that are independently owned and operated by local Habitat for Humanity affiliates, as a way for Habitat to raise revenue and promote its message of sustainability. Products, which can include anything from  kitchen cabinetry and lighting, to household and décor items, are donated by individuals, manufacturers, contractors and stores. In addition to its brick-and-mortar locations, Restore has an online presence for specialty items, including SubZero refrigerators and Miele appliances. “A great deal of research went into choosing our first New York City location,” said Karen Haycox, CEO of Habitat NYC. “We ultimately settled on Queens because of the high level of construction activity, sizable home ownership figures, excellent highway access and local customer composition.” She said, “The ReStore concept provides an opportunity for families to invest in their future as home owners and strengthens our ability to serve more communities. We are excited to introduce this project to New York City and hope our ReStore in Queens can serve as a model for our plans to expand into other boroughs.” “We are thrilled to be part of ReStore’s debut in the outer boroughs of New York City, where more than seven million residents will be introduced to the concept of tackling home improvements with recycled/re-purposed materials purchased at a fraction of the regular price - typically 50-80% percent off the original retail value,” said Dean Rosenzweig, senior vice president, retail services at CBRE, who, along with Jeremy Scholder, negotiated the lease on behalf of the tenant. “We look forward to continue working side by side with Habitat as they expand ReStore throughout the boroughs.”
