Rochester's Cornerstone Group receives funding for two apartment communities

Rochester's Cornerstone Group, Ltd. was recently the recipient of funding awards from New York State Homes and Community Renewal, which completed the necessary financing to develop two additional residential rental communities in Monroe County. One project, Rockwood Center at Brentland Woods, is being developed with Episcopal SeniorLife Communities, and will be a 40-unit senior housing complex located off of East Henrietta Rd. The facility will be linked with the existing 51-unit assisted living facility known as Brentland Woods, which was built a number of years ago. Construction will commence this summer. The other new housing complex is El Camino Estates Phase II, developed in collaboration with Ibero American Development Corporation, whereby 25 single family homes will be built and rented to families in an area adjacent to where Phase I was completed and is fully occupied at the present time. The first phase had made a significant impact on improving the quality of life in the neighborhood. Construction is expected to commence this spring. Funds were awarded through the Finger Lakes Regional Economic Development Council by New York State Homes and Community Renewal in December. Cornerstone is also developing the 45-unit senior project known as Monarch Senior Living on Holt Rd. in Webster. This project has recently been granted the Certificate of Occupancy as the building has been developed with CDS Monarch and will have its first senior citizen occupants in February.
