Rochester's Cornerstone Group receives funding for two apartment communities
Rochester's Cornerstone Group, Ltd. was recently the recipient of funding awards from New York State Homes and Community Renewal, which completed the necessary financing to develop two additional residential rental communities
in Monroe County.
One project, Rockwood Center at Brentland Woods, is being developed with Episcopal SeniorLife Communities, and will be a 40-unit senior housing
complex located off of East Henrietta Rd. The facility will be linked
with the existing 51-unit assisted living facility known as Brentland Woods,
which was built a number of years ago. Construction will commence this
summer.
The other new housing complex is El Camino Estates Phase II, developed in
collaboration with Ibero American Development Corporation, whereby 25 single family homes will be built and rented to families in an area adjacent to
where Phase I was completed and is fully occupied at the present time. The
first phase had made a significant impact on improving the quality of life
in the neighborhood. Construction is expected to commence this spring.
Funds were awarded through the Finger Lakes Regional Economic Development Council by New York State Homes and Community Renewal in December.
Cornerstone is also developing the 45-unit senior project known as Monarch Senior Living on Holt Rd. in Webster. This project has recently been
granted the Certificate of Occupancy as the building has been developed with
CDS Monarch and will have its first senior citizen occupants in February.
