Retail by Mona leases 4,000 s/f to Cadar

Manhattan, NY According to Retail by MONA, jewelry brand Cadar has signed a long-term lease in the Meatpacking District at 875 Washington St. This is MONA’s third long-term lease at 875 Washington St. following Breitling’s lease of the corner space and Studs’ 21st location. The 4,000 s/f space, most recently occupied by Vans, is located on the southern corner and features 12-ft. ceilings and a 59-ft. wraparound.

MONA’s Brandon Singer, Virginia Pittarelli and Jason Friedman are representing landlords RFR Holdings LLC and Raycliff Capital in the lease-up of the building.

Cadar creates 18k gold and diamond jewelry. Founded in 2015, Cadar made its retail debut at Bergdorf Goodman.

Built in 1887, 875 Washington is a fully restored historic, 71,000 s/f, five-story, mixed-use building located in the Meatpacking District. While Gansevoort St. has seen steady leasing velocity with little to no inventory remaining, Washington St. is becoming the new desired destination for both luxury and direct to consumer retailers to open stores. MONA is confident that Washington St. will experience similar leasing activity to Gansevoort St. in the coming months.

“We’re thrilled to bring a third iconic brand to the historic 875 Washington St.,” said Brandon Singer, MONA founder & CEO. “We’re confident in this location for the brand, with its proximity to The Standard and likeminded retailers. Cadar is in the prime place to attract their signature fashion-forward clientele.”

Tri-state capital migrates nationally amid regulation pressure - by Reese Weaver

New York tri-state multifamily investors are increasingly reallocating capital to less-regulated markets across the U.S. as rent control and legislative risk erode returns at home.
