Rechler of RexCorp Realty to be honored by USGBC-LI on March 19

Real estate magnate Scott Rechler, chairman and chief executive officer of RexCorp Realty LLC, will be honored by the U.S. Green Building Council Long Island Chapter (USGBC-LI) at their Building Green Long Island gala taking place on Wednesday, March 19 from 6-10 p.m at the Long Island Marriott Hotel and Conference Center. "We are honoring Scott Rechler of Rexcorp Realty for his vision and pioneering efforts," said Rudy Holesek, USGBC-LI gala chairman. "Mr. Rechler was the first to introduce many energy saving technologies in office building and construction here on Long Island." Rechler is chairman and CEO of RexCorp Realty LLC, a multi-billion dollar private real estate operating company which has reinforced the philosophy of "voluntary responsibility" whether in a from-the-ground-up project or by improving an existing or acquired property. The USGBC-LI promotes environmentally responsible design, construction and operation of buildings and communities in order to enhance quality of life through the creation of profitable and healthy places to live and work. The breadth and depth of the USGBC database and knowledge uniquely position it as the hub of online green resources. And with a projected 15 million new buildings to be constructed in the U.S. by 2015, it is paramount these resources be available to as many people as possible. With buildings consuming approximately 40% of the annual U.S. energy and 70% of the nation's annual electricity, supporting USGBC-LI in their efforts to raise funds to promote their vision of sustainability and responsible building practices allows each of us the opportunity to contribute to the improvement of our quality of life on Long Island.
