Manhattan, NY Raven Property Advisors has launched a Capital Markets division, led by Scott Kummings and Ben Daniels, and hired Jared Sobel as principal, bringing on a veteran multifamily finance advisor who has closed more than $5 billion in loans across 1,000 transactions. The move expands the firm’s advisory platform following more than $1 billion in completed New York City investment sales transactions.

The new division will provide debt brokerage services and capital advisory for real estate owners and sponsors throughout the U.S., delivering comprehensive financing solutions across the full capital stack. Together with Raven’s investment sales business, the platform enables the firm to advise clients on both transaction execution and capital strategy.

The Capital Markets division of Raven was launched by Daniels and Kummings, who bring extensive buy-side investment, development, and capital markets experience to the firm. Daniels and Kummings have built and scaled fund-backed real estate businesses and developed high-end residential projects in New York City, providing Raven’s clients with an ownership-oriented perspective on capital structuring and deal execution. Sobel now joins the leadership team as the platform continues to expand.

“I’m thrilled to expand our capabilities into capital advisory and have Jared join the team,” said Rich Velotta, founder of Raven Property Advisors. “He’s an incredibly intelligent and talented real estate finance professional, and his addition further underscores our commitment and ability at Raven to provide a complete service for our clients. The capital markets division now allows us to provide a full set of capital markets services.”

Sobel joins Raven after six years as senior managing director at Walker & Dunlop and five years as executive vice president at CBRE. Over more than a decade in real estate finance, he has established himself as a leading advisor in the multifamily financing space. His industry recognition includes being named a GlobeSt Rainmaker, Connect CRE Top Mortgage Broker, NYREJ One to Watch, and Commercial Observer “25 Under 35.”

For Sobel, the move represents an opportunity to combine institutional capital markets experience with a more entrepreneurial advisory platform.

“Raven gives me the opportunity to take everything I’ve learned scaling debt platforms at CBRE and Walker & Dunlop and apply it as a principal of the firm, where our only focus is what’s best for the client. Partnering with Ben and Scott on the Capital Markets team, who have built and scaled real estate businesses from the buy side while also developing high-end condominiums in New York City, and now working with Rich Velotta, brings a level of insight to my clients that I’ve always felt was missing,” said Sobel. “Clients should expect a broader and more comprehensive advisory practice. I’m not just optimizing a single transaction — I’m advising on their business as a whole. I bring the institutional rigor of having scaled production at two of the largest firms in the industry, combined with the flexibility and principal-level commitment that comes from a firm built the way Rich has built Raven.”

“Launching the capital advisory platform will allow us to fully complement the needs of our existing clients and allow us to broaden our offering to other markets. Timing is everything and this couldn’t happen without Rich’s leadership in maturing Raven to where it is,” said Kummings. “We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Jared to the team. Very few have accomplished what he has in so little time. We’re fortunate to have the opportunity to work with Jared to build his next chapter.”
