Racanelli achieves Diamond Level in the Associated Builders and Contractors’ National Safety Program

Melville, NY Racanelli Construction Company, Inc. has been confirmed by the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) at the STEP Diamond Level in 2022 for safety. STEP is a safety management system for participants regardless of company size or type of work. ABC member firms measure their safety processes and policies on 25 key components through a questionnaire with the goal of enhancing safety programs that reduce jobsite incidents. This is the second consecutive year for an ABC safety achievement by Racanelli Construction, which recognizes the company as one which exhibits a continued commitment to jobsite safety and whose safety performance and programs are judged to be at the highest level by the ABC National Health and Safety Committee.

Racanelli Construction’s company-wide safety initiatives are led by Douglas Winter, director of safety, OSHA Trainer/BCSP-CHST. A highly credential safety professional, Winter’s role focuses on assuring the company’s compliance with all workplace safety regulations and specifically those  pertaining to the construction job site. The company emphasizes ongoing safety training for its employees with the goal of accident prevention by keeping them informed of potential hazards and OSHA regulations for the construction industry. The company’s safety initiatives are documented in a comprehensive, written safety plan designed outlining hazards and best practices for their mitigation.

As a Diamond STEP member company, Racanelli Construction is eligible to apply for ABC’s National Safety Excellence Award.
