PWC to hold Healthcare Construction Forum on March 15th

New York, NY On March 15th, from 8 to 10:30 a.m., Professional Women in Construction (PWC) will host the Healthcare Construction Forum at the Steelcase Showroom, 4 Columbus Circle. The panel will discuss recent and upcoming construction projects at hospitals throughout the city, including Mount Sinai Health System, Weill Cornell Medical College, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and Northwell. Diana Anderson, MD, MArch, medical planner at Stantec Architecture, will moderate. The discussion is set up to give the attendees insight into the specific needs, prevailing trends, and preferred practices of these hospitals.

“The way hospitals are built is essential to care,” said Maria Wilpon, PWC board member, principal at Stantec Architecture and co-chair of the event. “This panel will discuss how architects, general contractors and subcontractors can work together with healthcare institutions and clinicians to ensure we are at the forefront of best practice, technology and healthcare delivery in order to provide the best possible patient care and promote community health.”

Panelists include: Tracy Nichols, healthcare manager, Steelcase Showroom; Thomas Ahn, vice president, Mount Sinai Health System; Christina DeRose, director of leasing and space management, Weill Cornell Medical College; Neil Halpern, MD, MCCM, FACP, FCCP, chief of critical care medicine & medical director of respiratory therapy, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center; and Donna Ryan-Rose, director, strategic projects, Northwell.

The co-chairs of the event are Wilpon and Arthur SanFilippo, associate, Stantec Architecture. The event is sponsored by Steelcase Showroom, Stantec Architecture, HAKS and Sherwin-Williams.
