Joshua Levy 2016

Name: Joshua Levy 2016

Title: Associate Broker, Commercial Real Estate

Company: Nooklyn

Location: 28 Scott Avenue, Suite #106, Brooklyn, NY 11237

Birthplace: West Palm Beach, FL

Education: University of Colorado, Boulder Political Science

First job outside of real estate: In HS I worked for my family management company pressure cleaning pool decks in the Florida summer. After college I worked for a think tank in Washington D.C. which dealt with issues associated with terrorism.

First job in real estate or allied field: After law school in NYC, I had a few jobs as an attorney but the one I enjoyed the most was transactional real estate law for a large firm. Aside from Nooklyn’s commercial director Justin Losh, I am the only broker 100% focused on commercial at Nooklyn. Nooklyn is growing incredibly and with our tech and approach we are going to take over the world. I would like a national or international leadership role.

How do you unwind from a busy day in real estate? All types of fitness and I love live music–any size venue, my favorites are MSG, Brooklyn Bowl and the new Kings Theatre. I also play a custom replica Languedoc guitar and a Shiro bass guitar.

Favorite book or author: “Infinite Jest” by David Foster Wallace or “The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy” by Douglass Adams.

Favorite movies: “Back to the Future,” “The Ten Commandments,” “Tombstone”

Last song you purchased/downloaded? I love Spotify, they should talk to me about a Brooklyn headquarters

One word to describe your work environment: Awesome! Nooklyn is the best

Rules to live by in business: “Seeing is believing,” “If you build it they will come,” and “If it smells bad, it probably is.”

If you could invite one person to dinner (living or dead, but not related to you) who would it be and where would you go? Trey Anastasio, any place where he can show me some guitar stuff and we can talk about life and music.

What is your DREAM job? (something other than your current job): Rock Star, ha ha? I always thought I would make a great politician. Who knows, maybe I still will.
