First job outside of real estate: I worked on a farm baling hay for one summer when I was 13 years old. Nothing will make a young person understand the importance of hard work and education more than farm work.
First job in real estate or allied field: I gained some valuable real estate experience during my stint in public accounting, but Buckingham Properties is my first "real" real estate job.
What do you do now and what are you planning for the future? A substantial part of my job is helping Buckingham Properties manage its growth, which is exactly what I hope to be doing for the foreseeable future.
How do you unwind from a busy day in real estate? Unwind? There's no unwinding in real estate.
Favorite book or author: "On the Road" by Jack Kerouac.
Favorite movie: "The Big Lebowski"
Last song you downloaded? A live version of "Machine Gun" by Jimi Hendrix.
One word to describe your work environment: Vibrant
Rules to live by in business: Hard work is the most effective way to separate oneself from the competition, both individually and as an organization.
If you could invite one person to dinner (living or dead) who would it be and where would you go? I'd bring Warren Buffet to a place of his choice. Hopefully, I'd leave with a few stock tips.
What is your dream job? Since athletic limitations have ruled out any chance of playing shortstop in the major leagues, or playing quarterback in the NFL, I guess being the CFO of Buckingham Properties is my dream job.
