First job in real estate or allied field: Worked with SOM and Gensler in 1976 to design a marketing center for The Wells Fargo Plaza, formerly the Allied Bank Plaza and First Interstate Bank Plaza, located at 1000 Louisiana St. in downtown Houston, Tex. This building is currently the 14th tallest building in the U.S., the second tallest building in Texas and Houston, and the tallest all glass building in the western hemisphere.
What do you do now and what are you planning for the future? After helping developers and occupiers with 100's of large and successful showcase projects around the world, my attention has shifted to fully integrated Smart Buildings that seamlessly blend technology and user experiences in ways that promote collaboration, energy management and value creation. Joining SMW's leadership provides me a platform to quickly accomplish this across a global client base.
How do you unwind from a busy day in real estate? I enjoy outdoor activities such as walking, skiing, sailing as well as Bronco's football.
Favorite book or author: "Reinventing Fire: Bold Business Solutions for a New Energy Era" (Lovins, Amory 2011)
Favorite movie: Any James Bond 007 movie. I have been trying to out-tech 007 since I was 11 years old.
