Professional Profile: Daniel Wrublin 2015

Name: Daniel Wrublin Title: Founding Principal Company: Dalan Management Location: New York, N.Y. Birthplace: Englewood, N.J. Education: BA Duke University First job outside of real estate: When I was a teenager, I was signed by Ford Models. I worked for Tommy Hilfiger and Toys R Us amongst many other brands. First job in real estate or allied field: Summer intern at Murray Hill properties while in college What do you do now and what are you planning for the future? We are value add multifamily, commercial, and retail owners and operators with properties mostly in New York and Phoenix. We are also bridge and mezzanine lenders. In addition to expanding upon our current platform, when the cycle turns we would like to get involved in ground up development and continue to be active on the debt side. How do you unwind from a busy day in real estate? Playing with my three-week old daughter, Dylan, helps put everything in perspective. Favorite book or author: "Unbroken" by Laura Hillenbrand Favorite movie:"Gladiator" Last song you purchased/downloaded? "Lean On" One word to describe your work environment: Organized chaos (that's 2 words- sorry) Rules to live by in business: There is nothing more important in business than your reputation. If you just do what you say you are going to do, it is amazing how far that will get you. This advice came from my grandfather, George Wrublin, who was one of the great influences in my life. If you could invite one person to dinner (living or dead, but not related to you) who would it be and where would you go? I would invite Abraham Lincoln to dinner. I would go wherever he wanted, but if I could convince him to try great Japanese food, we would go to Nobu 57. I'm not sure he ever ate like that back in the 1800's. What is your DREAM job? (something other than your current job) I am a huge basketball fan, especially Duke basketball. I don't want Coach K to go anywhere, but if he did, coaching Duke would probably be at the top of my list.
