According to VHB, two more staff professionals have earned Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) accreditation from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). With the addition of Courtney Haas and Ronald Pfuhl, RLA, VHB now has 75 LEED certified professionals on staff among its 18 offices along the east coast.
LEED Accredited Professionals are those who have demonstrated a thorough understanding of green building practices and principles and familiarity with LEED requirements, resources and processes. LEED AP candidates must possess building industry knowledge along with experience working with green building professionals across a number of disciplines. The LEED AP credential indicates exceptional strength in green building practices and specialization in fields such as commercial design and construction, commercial operations and maintenance, commercial interiors, residential design and construction, and neighborhood.
Pfuhl, RLA, LEED AP, has 19 years of experience in interdisciplinary project and program management. His landscape experience encompasses a number of civil engineering and surveying projects in the public and private sectors. Mr. Pfuhl has provided landscape architectural services for VHB clients throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties which include SUNY Stony Brook, CVS, Blackman Plumbing Supply, Riverhead Building Supply and Soundview Property in Wading River.
As a project engineer, Haas, LEED AP, is responsible for a range of site development and civil engineering projects across Long Island. Her broad base of experience covers retail, recreational, municipal and residential construction. Haas has worked on the expansion or full-service development of CVS sites throughout the region. Other projects include the Sports Park Concept Plan in Yaphank, Rose Residence in East Meadow and the Amityville Retail Center.

"LEED AP accreditation is a priority at VHB and demonstrates our commitment to promoting green building and sustainable development," said Robert Eschbacher, PE, principal, VHB. "Courtney and Ron have tremendous experience in their respective fields, and we congratulate them in earning this prestigious and important industry endorsement."
