Stratford, CT Arnold Peck received the Kapusta Lifetime Achievement Award from the Milford Regional Chamber of Commerce on January 25 held at the Riverview Bistro, the location of the former Fagan’s Restaurant formerly owned by Peck.
The Kapusta Award is named in honor of a visionary leader in the city’s history and is given to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication, leadership, and lasting impact in both business and community service.
Peck has had a remarkable career spanning decades and consistently demonstrated the values of innovation, community engagement, and leadership. His influence extends beyond the real estate business realm, as he has actively contributed to the betterment of the city and its surrounding communities through philanthropy and civic involvement. These include Boys and Girls Village, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the United Way, the American Cancer Society, and the Heart Foundation.
For some people, real estate is just a business, for Peck, it is more. It is his passion. His dream – to establish one of the best real estate organizations in Connecticut – happened not by accident, but by design.
When Peck began his real estate career 50 years ago, he knew what it would take to get to the top would not be magic, only plain, hard work. It also took determination and long hours. Peck started with the philosophy that there is always a new opportunity. His formula for success has not wavered with all his accomplishments. He is not about to sit around and wait for things to happen. He reaches out often and explores new possibilities.
When the economy is booming, he runs with it when it is slow, he runs faster!
At an early age, Peck started his uphill climb by renovating an old house in Milford. He then went on to specialize in the rehabilitation of beach cottages on the shoreline. He has been credited with the revitalization of the tri-beach area of the city. Peck continued to rehab small buildings and sell residential properties as a licensed agent.
In 1967, he founded his own company, Arnold Peck Realty. He trains his associates to work as though they are running their businesses.
He sets the pace for his staff by being decisive and encourages them to be inventive and creative. Obstacles are not simple problems for Peck associates, they are challenges. If the first approach does not work, they are never roadblocked. They try and try again.
Peck holds membership in the following organizations: Connecticut Developers Association, International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), Connecticut Economic Research Council (CERC), New Haven and Fairfield County Home Builders Association, Orange Chamber, and Milford Regional Chamber of Commerce. In addition, The National Association of Realtors, and the Connecticut Association of Realtors. Peck has attended for the past 40+ years the ICSC events held in Las Vegas, New York, Boston, and Hartford, Connecticut. Personally attending numerous other local events in pursuing his passion.
They follow in the footsteps of a man who wakes up each morning asking, “What can I achieve today that I didn’t achieve yesterday?” As one bank said, “His leadership and company growth in the past ten years has been truly outstanding.” No wonder Peck has been named the ‘Real Estate Man of the Decade’ in Southern New England.
