Optima Salon Suites signs retail lease at TF Cornerstone’s Chelsea Centro

Manhattan, NY TF Cornerstone (TFC) has signed Optima Salon Suites to a 2,388 s/f retail lease at Chelsea Centro, TFC’s residential development located at 278 7th Ave. The beauty concept, which leases fully customizable studio spaces to independent beauty professionals, will occupy the ground-floor space in one of the city’s most dynamic neighborhoods.

TFC was represented in the transaction by Danyiel Cohen, Thomas Galo, and Steven Baker of RTL. Optima Salon Suites was also represented by RTL.

Founded in 2018, Optima Salon Suites provides the framework and structure to help beauty professionals launch their business. The suites range in size depending on individualized business needs, and tenants have the freedom to design and decorate their space with artwork, furniture and other decor. This transaction marks Optima Salon Suites’ second NYC location within a TFC building, following 94 Gansevoort St. in Meatpacking District.

“Optima Salon Suites brings a highly experiential and service-driven concept to Chelsea Centro,” said Steve Gonzalez, vice president of retail leasing at TFC. “Centrally located in one of Manhattan’s most dynamic and sought-after neighborhoods, this concept adds to the diversity of offerings in the area and complements the vibrant mix of businesses that define Chelsea.”

Located in Chelsea Centro on the corner of 26th and Seventh Ave. Designed by architectural firm Costas Kondylis, the 18-story building has 356 residential units, two landscaped roof decks, two art fitness centers and a ground floor of over 43,000 s/f devoted to commercial use. The building benefits from close proximity to Madison Square Park, the High Line, and the Hudson River waterfront, and is also well served by restaurants, bars, and retailers, including Whole Foods and Fairway Market, near multiple bus and subway lines.

“Chelsea’s vibrant neighborhood is the ideal location for Optima Salon Suites newest location,” said Rome Mehr, head of leasing at Optima Salon Suites. “Our goal is to create a welcoming space where clients can access a variety of beauty and aesthetic services all in one place, while giving each vendor the creative freedom to run their business on their own terms.”

Other retail tenants in the building include Blank St., The Malin Coworking, Bank of America, Chelsea Pediatric and Chip City.

TFC was represented in the transaction by Danyiel Cohen, Thomas Galo, and Steven Baker of RTL. Optima Salon Suites was also represented by RTL.
