Manhattan, NY The recent renovation of the Marriott Marquis in Times Square as completed by Omnibuild. The $30 million project includes upgrades to the hotel’s bars and restaurants, ballrooms and meeting rooms as well as adding a 240-ft.-long skybridge

The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic may have resulted in a massive slow down for NYC construction and the hospitality industry at large, but while many projects stalled, the famous Marriott Marquis in Times Square forged ahead with building and construction company Omnibuild at the helm.

The 16-month, $30 million project renovation features a complete refurbishment of the hotel’s restaurants, bars, ballrooms, meeting rooms and retail spaces. Omnibuild constructed three signature bars and a large kitchen to serve the guests of the 2,000-room hotel. Additionally, a 240-ft.-long skybridge spanning the hotel atrium was added, with 90-inch-long LG LED screens and over 90 tons of steel. The renovation also featured numerous infrastructure additions including an auto-lift upgrade and the installation of a massive gas-to-steam boiler plant.

The hotel—famous for its atrium lobby rising 48 stories to “The View” restaurant, and its high-tech elevator system—is back and better than ever.

The Omnibuild team included Marcin Plichcinski, Rich Lucente, Taykut Girit, Anthony Scotto, Michael Tartaglione, Mario Turco, William Brown, Steven Dellacava and Jason Levine.

The project team includes:

  • Electric – Amp-Rite Electric

  • Structural Steel – Top Link
