I am very pleased to report that the 21st Annual Conference held June 14-16, 2023 at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona, New York was a great success!  The event was sponsored by the NYS Commercial Association of Realtors, Upstate New York Chapter of CCIM and the Society of Exchange Counselors (SEC).

Whether attendees learned new information from instructors Joseph Larkin, CCIM, SIOR and Russell Gullo, CCIM who did a great job for the education portion of the conference or enjoyed speakers Michael Kelly, director of government affairs, NYSAR who gave the attendees a legislative update or J. Shelby Schneider, deputy director, NYS Economic Development Council, who gave an update on projects in NYS, attendees had many opportunities to gain more knowledge about the industry.

Tyler Nepote, SEC and Paul Hakim, CCIM kept everyone engaged during the fast-paced marketing investment session. There were attendees from New York, Connecticut, Colorado, Florida, Canada, Massachusetts and Virginia. The rain did not keep attendees away from having a great time at the SEC annual networking event at the Vernon National Shooting Preserve.

Two highlights of the conference included the recognition of NYSCAR president Dana Crocker, (Syracuse) who passed away unexpectedly in March. Dana’s wife, Lorraine was present to receive the Past President’s plaque in honor of Dana’s service to the organization.

James Kelly, CCIM (Syracuse) was also honored as the 2022
NYSCAR Realtor of the Year.

Many thanks to our outstanding conference sponsors: Diamond: CoStar; Pyramid Brokerage/Cushman & Wakefield, Gold: New York Real Estate Journal, LaBella Associates, Silver: C2G Environmental Consultants, LLC; Beardsley Architects and Engineers, CBRE Upstate NY; Hanna Commercial Real Estate, Stewart Title and RJ Gullo Companies.
