NYSCAR Metro-LI continues to bring commercial real estate practitioners together

Our chapter has a new executive board, consisting of: * Alan Hendrickson, President * Jack Britvan, VP * Roger Ramme, Treasurer * Mohsen Zandieh, Secretary * Harvey Kolin, Past President In keeping with our tagline, "Bringing Commercial Real Estate Practitioners Together," we will continue to hold functions that will be of particular interest to the commercial real estate industry. For this year, we are planning: * Ides of March Networking Extravaganza on March 15th from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Sugar in Carle Place, N.Y. * The State of the Island Symposium will be held in late March or early April. Industry leaders will address retail, investment, industrial, office, and a political leader to address the governmental environment. * In July, we are planning for our annual Jeopardy Challenge event at the Milleridge Inn. The leading local real estate groups compete for trophies and bragging rights in a fun game of real estate trivia. * In the fall, we will be holding our Lending Symposium. Who has money to lend, what are the terms and conditions, and the types of businesses being sought. NYSCAR is a New York state-wide commercial overlay board, under the auspices of the New York State Association of Realtors (NYSAR). NYSCAR has six chapters statewide, with our local chapter responsible for the New York City Boroughs, Nassau and Suffolk Counties. The Metro Chapter has over 50 active members. We are particularly pleased to have two new members on our executive team. Mohsen Zandieh, Principal of Arash Real Estate, is a former President of the Long Island Board of Realtors. Roger Ramme, is an attorney with Goldstein, Rubinton Goldstein and DiFazio. Their expertise is a welcomed addition to our board. Our membership is reporting an uptick in retail and office leasing and what we hope is the beginning of growth in the purchase arena. On the sales side, we work closely with 1031 exchange intermediaries and have had recent successes with installment sales through seller financing. We are expecting a stronger year in 2012. Alan Hendrickson is the 2012 president of NYSCAR Metro-Long Island Chapter, Melville, N.Y.
