NYARM annual all day Property Management Expo to be held September 21

Right under our noses. New York City mandates buildings that burn # 6 oil to convert to a cleaner heating fuel before the boiler's operating permit expires, or by 2015, whichever is sooner. The sooner could mean as soon as 2012. For contractors and their tradesmen, this means consistent work starting now and lasting for 4 years. Many buildings will choose to make these conversions earlier than required, if it makes financial sense ... in all 10,000 buildings. If your building was lucky enough to receive a letter recently from Con Ed saying they want to bring a gas line to your building, jump at the opportunity as this is the best news you could get concerning this entire initiative. For those buildings where converting to # 2 heating fuel is your only option, then you have the task of needing to find other fuel consuming savings since # 2 oil is the most costly. Understanding & Complying With NYC Clean Heat Mandates is the overriding topic on September 21 at NYARM's annual all day Property Management Expo at the Hotel Pennsylvania, West 34th & 7th Ave. We will address: 1) The most fiscally-practical and timeline-expedient methods to achieve compliant fuel conversions. 2) Best practices for documentation and signoffs. 3) The commissioning of finished burner replacement projects (from #6 oil to #4 or to #2 and/or gas). Also, everyone wants to add new equity to their buildings. The seminar on how to raise property values addresses this, in particular, through solar energy installations while utilizing ROI, Return-on-Investment methodology as the means to achieve the additional value. ROI benefits both owners and shareholders alike, and is applicable to rentals, cooperatives, condominiums and commercial properties. The Expo is free to all preregistered attendees.
