Mineola, NY According to Nassau County executive Laura Curran, the Nassau County Industrial Development Agency (IDA) has approved a package of economic incentives for a proposed 40,000 s/f building in Hicksville for expanding Acutis Diagnostics Inc., a medical laboratory involved in the fight against opioid addiction and misuse of antibiotics.

According to Curran, this project will bring over 100 new jobs to the county. “I applaud the IDA for bringing this innovative Long Island bio-tech company to Nassau, ensuring the company not only stays in the region, but brings its state-of-the art facilities and over 100 high-paying jobs to the county,” said Curran. “This is a perfect example of how IDA benefits can be a highly effective tool for attracting companies in key growth sectors.”

IDA chairman Richard Kessel said, “Job retention is one of the most important roles of the IDA. We knew we needed to keep this company from moving to New Jersey and are excited about their commitment to growing their business in Hicksville, an important target for economic revitalization.”

Acutis, a growing company which began three years ago with two employees, was considering a move to New Jersey. The company had previously relocated from its Farmingdale location to East Northport, but once again had outgrown its space. Under the plan approved by the IDA Boardon Feb. 28, Acutis will acquire about two acres at 400 Karin Ln., demolish an existing building and construct a new facility.
