Nagavalli and Ilesco join Shen Milsom & Wilke as principals, serving in the medical equipment planning team

Shen Milsom & Wilke (SM&W) has added two new principals to their medical equipment planning team. Sudhakar Nagavalli, CCE, CBET, has been named as a principal, director medical equipment planning. He is responsible for the delivery of medical equipment planning projects in domestic and international markets. Nagavalli brings over 35 years of experience in medical equipment (ME) planning, ME-IT integration, project management, biomedical engineering, and clinical engineering. Nagavalli holds U.S. board certifications in Clinical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering Technology. He is active in the field of clinical engineering and is on the two U.S. boards of examiners for Certification in Clinical Engineering and Biomedical Technology. He has presented widely on medical equipment management and planning and is a professional member of American College of Clinical Engineering, Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation, and Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society. Sudhakar received his M.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Surrey in Guildford, U.K., and a B.S. in Electronics Engineering from the University of Mysore in Surathkal, India. Prior to joining Shen Milsom & Wilke, Nagavalli has held various leadership roles which included Senior director of clinical engineering at Sparrow Healthcare System in Lansing, MI, general manager of the equipment planning division at KJWW Engineering Consultants in Naperville, IL, and site director of biomedical engineering at New York Presbyterian Hospital. Most recently he served as medical equipment planner at KEO International Consultants in Doha, Qatar. Georgine Ilesco, IA.AIA, has also been named a principal, director of client relations-healthcare. Ilesco is responsible for ensuring the continuity and quality of our medical equipment and integrated technology planning services. Based in New York, she supports organizational growth by providing strategic direction and maintaining interaction with new and existing SM&W clients across the globe. In order to manage client expectations, Ilesco is also involved in determining short and long-term resource requirements, which is vital to maintaining successful relationships and service delivery. For over 25 years in the healthcare design field, Ilesco's leadership role and interaction with user groups and hospital administration throughout the design process provided the continuity essential to fulfill key institutional objectives. In addition to assisting hospital leadership with strategic planning and complex initiatives, Ilesco directed the development of numerous master plans for community hospitals and complex academic medical centers in U.S., Canada, Middle East, Africa and Europe. Previous positions included principal at HOK New York as well as leadership roles with URS, HLW, and Perkins & Will. She holds a master's degree in Architecture and Urban Planning from Ion Mincu International School of Architecture in Bucharest. She is an International AIA Associate as well as a member of the American Society of Healthcare Engineering and the New York Society for Health Planning.
