Manhattan, NY Murray Engineering, the New York-based structural engineering firm founded by Robert Murray, P.E., has transitioned ownership to Andrea Shear, P.E., and Anthony Piderit, P.E., S.E, experienced leaders within the firm.

“Andrea and Anthony have demonstrated exceptional leadership, technical expertise, and commitment to our clients,” said Murray. “I am confident they will continue to build on the culture and values that have defined Murray Engineering since its founding.”

Under the new leadership, Murray Engineering will maintain local ownership and continue to bring a practical, common-sense approach to structural design, seamlessly transforming elegant architectural visions into durable, high-performing realities.

With a diverse portfolio that spans from the complex forensic restoration of aging structures to smart-building methods such as Passive House and modular systems, the firm is committed to continuing the tradition of reliable structural engineering services in New York City, the Hudson Valley, and beyond.

“Our vision is to expand on Robert’s foundation while evolving with the industry’s changing needs,” said Andrea Shear. “We are committed to design excellence, collaboration, and practical, creative solutions for our clients.”

Piderit said, “Partnership is central to our work — with architects, owners, consultants, contractors, and communities. The best structural solutions come from collaboration, clear communication, and shared project vision.”

As Murray Engineering enters its next chapter, the firm remains focused on delivering thoughtful structural solutions while maintaining the collaborative culture and client relationships that have defined the practice for nearly three decades.

With offices in New York City and Rhinebeck, Murray Engineering serves private developers, institutions, building owners, agencies, nonprofits, and artists. The firm provides each project with technical rigor, attention, and personalized service, regardless of size.
