Mullins named 2008 president of the Institute of Real Estate Management

Regina Mullins, CPM, is the 2008 president of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM). With more than 23 years of industry experience, she is vice president, commercial real estate management, Cafritz Company, and serves on the firm's management committee. Prior to joining Cafritz Company in July, she was a senior portfolio manager at Cushman & Wakefield, responsible for 12 commercial buildings totaling 3 million s/f in northern Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Maryland. Mullins earned the Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation from IREM in 1984 and has been a member of IREM's northern Virginia chapter No. 77 since 1987.  She was honored by the chapter in 1995 as "CPM of the Year" and served as chapter president in 1997. As well, she was an IREM regional vice president in 2001 and 2002 and has chaired and/or served on IREM's Membership, Management Plan, Legislative and Education Committees.  Mullins earned her Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation from the CCIM Institute in May 2003. She is a graduate of National Louis University with a B.S. degree in Management. IREM is celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2008. For more than seven decades, IREM has been the source for education, resources, information and membership for real estate management professionals. An affiliate of the National Association of Realtors, IREM is the only professional real estate management association serving both the multi-family and commercial real estate sectors. With 80 U.S. chapters, eight international chapters and several other partnerships around the globe, IREM is an international organization that also serves as an advocate on issues affecting the real estate management industry. IREM CPM Members in the U.S. manage over $1.5 trillion in real estate assets, including 8.4 million residential units and 8.4 billion net s/f of commercial space. An additional 977,400 residential units are managed by IREM ARM members. IREM members are employed by some of the most prestigious real estate firms in the world and nearly 70% hold upper-level management positions.
