Moreland named executive director of operations at FS Energy, LLC

Terryl Moreland has joined FS Energy, LLC, the newly-created energy management services subsidiary of Cooper Square Realty, Inc., as executive director of operations. Unique in its industry, FS Energy's services are designed to meet the growing demand by residential and commercial real estate properties for more cost effective energy purchases, conservation of energy usage, and operating in a more environmentally conscientious manner. In this role, Moreland will supervise energy procurement for electricity, gas and oil; oversee data analysis and reporting of energy usage; and manage the conservation and greening program at clients' buildings. His staff is expected to grow to 10 professionals over the coming months. FS Energy takes a holistic approach to sophisticated energy management by evaluating all aspects of power in order to make innovative and cost-saving recommendations for its client's properties. These services include energy procurement; demand management services; energy, water and sewer auditing; energy incentives by government agencies; project management; electric submetering; and ongoing energy efficiency consulting. As part of its service, FS Energy analyzes usage statistics against its database - which comprises years of historical data on nearly 200 residential and commercial properties - to rate buildings according to a statistical standard. The result is effectively gauging the "environmental footprint" of a building in order to make customized recommendations for conservation and cost savings. Moreland is an energy generalist with 15 years of energy industry and conservation experience. Prior to joining FS Energy, he was director of operations for the Conservation Services Group, where he implemented governmental and utility conservation programs that lowered energy usage in buildings in the New York metropolitan area, while also decreasing the environmental impact of heating, cooling and lighting these buildings. "Terry's diverse experience in the energy services industry makes him an invaluable asset to our quickly growing team," said Tal Eyal, president of FS Energy. "With a master's degree in energy policy, and experience serving on state-wide energy and environmental policy development committees in New York, Terry will be beneficial in helping to create and advocate best practices in energy conservation for our clients." "Cooper Square Realty is at the forefront in energy services with the launch of its FS Energy division," said Moreland. "The firm is making the right investments in partnerships, technology and human resources to ensure that it capitalizes on the exponential growth potential in this market."
